Increasing the area under saffron cultivation in Hamedan to 150 hectares

Deputy of Plant Production Improvement of Hamedan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization said: the area of ​​saffron cultivation in Hamedan province will reach 150 hectares.

Shahram Parvaresh stated that the area of ​​saffron cultivation in Hamedan province is 63.5 hectares, and said: During a special program with the management organization, the area of ​​saffron cultivation in the province will be expanded to 150 hectares during a five-year plan.

He added: In the past, 95% of the country’s saffron production was related to the provinces of South Khorasan and Razavi, which is done with plans and the need to produce economic products of saffron cultivation in Hamadan province.

Parvaresh pointed out: This year, 194 kg of saffron has been harvested from 63.5 hectares of cultivated area in Hamadan province.

Deputy of Plant Production Improvement of Hamedan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization, referring to the decrease in the area under irrigated crops in the province, reminded: 344 thousand tons of sugar beet was produced in the province this year, but no increase has been made in this field, but due to increased yield per unit area and nutrition. Due to the plant, the production of this product increased.

Parvaresh stated that next year the area of ​​sugar beet cultivation will be reduced by one thousand hectares, and specified: It is planned to have 260 thousand tons of sugar beet production in 5000 hectares next year.
