Qom province can become a center of saffron production
Kobra Vafaee, the first saffron producer in Qom province, stated:
I have started planting saffron on my personal land with my wife since 2005.
He continued by stating that I am the first producer of saffron in Qom province:
but at present my activity is very low, because I do not have suitable land for this work.
This saffron producer, pointing out that the main problem of saffron producers is the land, said:
Considering that saffron onions have to be moved in the seventh year due to reproduction, we are currently facing a shortage of space.
On the other hand, in the land where saffron is planted,
after 10 years, the land is no longer suitable for cultivation and another land must be selected for cultivation.
He added that he has rented another land to continue cultivating saffron:
The production of this land was not as prosperous and massive as the previous land,
because this land does not have the quality of the previous land.
Vafaie stated that saffron is a product that needs to be cared for around the clock, and if it is not taken care of in time, this product will be destroyed. .
He stated that the agricultural jihad offered me land that was close to Saveh and was very far from my place of residence. He said: I did not accept this offer from the Ministry of Jihad. On the other hand, I offered another land near my place of residence. It did not have the water supply it needed.
