Production of 11 tons of dry saffron this year in Neishabour city

The deputy of the organization and director of Neishabour Agricultural Jihad said:
the share of this city in this year’s saffron production has been about 11 tons of dry saffron due to the 37% increase in production.

Engineer Seyed Gholamreza Nabavi-Namaghi added:
This year, the area under cultivation of valuable saffron plant in Neishabour increased to 3400 hectares,
which included 3100 hectares fertile and 300 hectares infertile and young.

He continued:
This crop is often cultivated in the central regions, Miyan Jalgeh and Zabrkhan,
and with direct and indirect employment of more than 500,000 people per day, has increased the gross income of farmers to 434 billion rials.

The deputy head of the organization and director of the Neishabour Agricultural Jihad continued:
In the current crop year, due to the suitable climatic conditions and climates, an average of three and a half kilograms of saffron
has been harvested from each hectare.

Nabavi said:
supplying the required chemical and micronutrient fertilizers, providing technical tips and advice, providing heaters to dry saffron,
building farms and ideal projects have been the support measures of the city’s agricultural jihad for saffron growers.

He pointed out:
the implementation of model designs and research on optimal planting methods and optimal use of inputs and facilities to harvest better
and more so that by following the guidelines of experts, some saffron farmers managed to harvest 10 to 12 kg of saffron from each Hectares
of their own farm.

Nabavi reminded:
the beautiful and turquoise flowers of the valuable saffron plant,
due to its special characteristics, require less water, more income and less management, and also cover the lands of Neishabour,
and farmers in this city welcomed this issue very much.
