Prediction of harvesting 60 kg of saffron in Zanjan province

Behnam Ajaghloo said:
At present, with the aim of managing water resources and optimal water consumption in the agricultural sector,
the cultivation of products with less water needs and compatible with the region in Zanjan province is pursued.

Babian pointed out that saffron is one of the medicinal plants that does not need much water and is resistant to dehydration and drought,
except for flowers. It does not face cold, so this product will be safe from frost in the process of products.

Referring to the forecast of 6 hectares of saffron cultivation in province this year, he noted:
This year, the area under saffron cultivation in the province will reach 40 hectares.

Director of Horticulture of Zanjan Jihad Agricultural Organization Babian stated that the saffron plant will reach its peak after about three years:
that this year’s saffron harvest in the province will reach 60 Kg.

He announced the average yield of saffron in province as 5 kg per hectare and stated:
The saffron production chain has been operating in the province for about a year.
