Ability to cultivate rainfed saffron in Sarvabad and Marivan

The director of horticultural affairs of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Kurdistan Province reminded:
Due to the suitable climatic conditions of the province, it is even possible to cultivate dry saffron in the cities of Marivan and Sarvabad.

Haji Mirzaei emphasized:
only the time of saffron cultivation is extremely important and the people who cultivate and build
a saffron farm must be in coordination with our colleagues in the city on what date they will cultivate it.

In response to why saffron is not covered by agricultural products insurance in Kurdistan province, he said:
Considering that Kurdistan is a nascent province in saffron cultivation and only 42 hectares of its lands are under saffron cultivation,
so the discussion of its risks in Filada province has not been determined.
Insurance should also specify what risks it should insure saffron against.

The director of horticulture affairs of Kurdistan Jihad Agricultural Organization added:
We want saffron insurance to include untimely and untimely rains that damage saffron flowers,
and since we only want this item, the insurance has not agreed with this item at the moment, but we are pursuing it.

In response to why saffron is included in industrial crops in Kurdistan province, he said:
Saffron is included in agricultural products and medicinal plants,
only considering that the country is limited in terms of water resources, allocating water to the agricultural sector is prohibited,
so allocation Water is considered industrial for saffron cultivation.
Of course, this issue is not within the competence of the Jihad Agricultural Organization and is related to the regional water department,
which allocates water and receives tariffs.
