Sargol saffron production in Tabas city is reduced by 35%

The director of Tabas Agricultural Jihad, stating that saffron is cultivated on 340 hectares of Tabas lands, emphasized:
the production of Sargol saffron in 1985 will reach one thousand kilograms with a 35% decrease compared to last year.

Mohammad Asadi, stating that Tabas city has the highest level of saffron cultivation in the province, emphasized:
The decrease in saffron yield in Tabas city is due to reasons such as drought continuity,
severe decline of water resources and lack of timely rainfall.
Compensation for part of the water supply damages by mobile tanker has started from the second half of December.

He emphasized on the planned programs of Jihad-e-Agriculture to upgrade the scientific level of saffron growers, increase quality and production:
In this regard, Jihad-e-Agriculture has held seven training-extension classes for planting, harvesting, cultivating and processing in the city.

In the end, the director of Tabas Jihad-e-Agriculture stated:
Due to the vastness and variety of climatic conditions in the city,
saffron harvest was different in different parts of the city, and the highest area under cultivation in Tabas belongs to Dastgerdan and Dehuk districts.

Harvesting of saffron has started from the second half of November and will continue until the second half of December.
