Prediction of 70 tons of dry saffron from Torbat Heydariyeh saffron lands
The governor of Torbat Heydarieh, while visiting the saffron farms in Rokh area of Torbat Heydarieh, said: This year, due to the reasonable price of buying and selling saffron in the market, the Rural Cooperative Organization does not see the need to buy saffron from farmers.
Ali Rostami stated: The area of saffron cultivation in this city is 8,765 hectares, which is located in the face section of 2,021 hectares of saffron cultivation.
He stated that the average harvest of dry saffron per hectare is 5 kg and added: it is predicted that about 70 tons of dry saffron will be harvested from 20,000 hectares of saffron lands in Torbat Heydariyeh this year.
The governor of Torbat Heydarieh continued: Whenever it is felt that the price of each kilogram of dried saffron is considered a loss for the farmer and he suffers, the Rural Cooperative Organization implements the purchase agreement as it did last year, but now there is no need to do so.
