Launching a saffron support purchase agency in Farouj city
The director of the North Khorasan Rural Cooperative announced the launch of a saffron support purchase agency in Farouj city today.
Jalil Ramezani, noting that the purchase of support was to be done by the province itself, said:
Since there was no laboratory in Farouj city to estimate the quality and standard of saffron product so that it could be priced, the establishment of this center by the North Khorasan Rural Cooperative was not realized.
He added: “With the follow-ups done, it was decided to set up a shopping agency in Khorasan Razavi, where the necessary tests will be carried out.”
Ramezani continued: “Almost now, the saffron flower harvest has been completed in Farouj farms and saffron farmers are clearing saffron.”
Saffron harvest in North Khorasan will reach 18 tons this fall, and most of the saffron produced in this province belongs to Farouj city, where 75% of North Khorasan saffron is produced.
The area under saffron cultivation in this province is 3,206 hectares, which is over 2,000 hectares in Farouj city.
