Export of Yazd saffron to Khorasan and Kerman!
The director of horticulture affairs of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Yazd province said:
Unfortunately, the saffron produced in the province is sent in bulk to the provinces of Khorasan and Kerman and is exported in their name.
Mohammad Reza Ebrahimi, referring to the droughts of recent years in Yazd province, stated:
According to the province’s policies to replace low-water crops,
this organization has a special program to promote saffron cultivation in the province and provide the necessary support
for the cultivation and development of this crop. he is doing it.
He stated:
This year, the area under saffron cultivation in the province is 420 hectares,
of which 357 hectares are fertile and 63 hectares are infertile.
According to the purchase price of each kilogram of saffron worth 60 to 70 million rials,
this product will be worth more than 10 billion tomans.
Ebrahimi, stating that Bahabad city with a cultivated area of 270 hectares has the first rank of saffron production in the province, added:
Bafgh with a cultivated area of 48 hectares and Mehriz with 33 hectares are in the second and third ranks in this field.
Referring to the good aroma and high quality of saffron produced in the province, he noted:
