End of saffron harvest in Neishabour city
The deputy head of the organization and the director of Neishabour Jihad-e-Agriculture announced the completion of the saffron harvest from the city’s farms.
Seyed Gholamreza Nabavi Namaghi added:
The area under cultivation of valuable saffron plant in Neishabour city is 3100 hectares,
including 2800 hectares fertile and 300 hectares infertile and young, which is often cultivated in the central areas,
between the plains and Zabarkhan, and with direct and indirect employment more than 495 thousand Per day,
the gross income of farmers working in this sector is 254 billion rials.
The director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of the province mentioned the support of Jihad-e-Agriculture of the city for saffron growers,
providing the required chemical and micronutrient fertilizers, providing technical tips and advice,
providing heaters to dry saffron, and pointing to the construction of farms and ideal plans.
Research on optimal planting methods and optimal use of inputs and facilities has led to better and more harvest,
so that with the guidance of experts, the saffron farmer will be able to harvest about 800 grams of saffron per hectare in the first year of planting.
