Farmers in 22 saffron villages of Khorasan Razavi and South Khorasan started producing pure and quality saffron in saffron processing centers,
in which the dyeing power is increased by 50% and the amount of plant impurities is reduced by half.
Ali Hosseini – Member of the National Saffron Council said:
Simultaneously with the beginning of saffron harvest in Razavi and South Khorasan,
farmers will welcome the plan to improve the quality and production of pure saffron,
Iran will retain the honor of the largest producer of pure and high quality saffron for our country.
He stated:
The implementation of this plan, which has been approved by the National Saffron Council and the Iranian Saffron
Science and Industry Coordination Center, will increase the quality and quantity of saffron produced in the country.
Executor of the project to improve the quality and production index of pure Iranian saffron announced a 50% increase in dyeing power
and reduction of plant impurities to 100% of saffron produced in the framework of this project and added:
Farmers’ product is concentrated with a 13-digit code and then two last digits are added. Production is traceable.
As a result, the honor of the best healthy and pure product goes to Iran and ultimately to the producer himself.
Hosseini said:
for the successful implementation of this project, as last year, it took over four months,
which results in the implementation of a better model to produce the highest quality saffron in the world.
The member of the National Saffron Council continued:
For farmers, whose efforts will bring great honors to some in the field of trade,
these steps are much smaller than the efforts they endure in the field of production.
