Branding hinders the export of saffron from Mazandaran
The director of horticultural affairs of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad stated that the lack of branding
and weakness in packaging are obstacles to saffron exports from the province.
Hadi Izadi, pointing out that the saffron harvest continues from late October to the end of November,
announced the area under saffron cultivation in the province as 40 hectares.
He said that most of the saffron cultivation in the province is traditional, he said:
Currently saffron is traditionally produced in 38 hectares of farms and two hectares as greenhouses.
He stated that the time of saffron cultivation is in the months of July to September and as the fact that we do not export saffron,
he mentioned the lack of branding and weakness in packaging as obstacles.
Increasing the level of production and yield has led to the development of production.
