Annual harvest of 40 tons of dried saffron flowers from Zaveh farms

Mahmoud Izadi, stating that an average of 40 tons of dry crops are harvested annually from Zaveh saffron farms, said:
This city has 12,100 hectares of cultivated area of saffron farms,
which is about 10% of the cultivated area of this crop in the country and one-eighth Its cultivation area includes the province.

The head of the Zaveh Agricultural Jihad Office continued:
This amount of area under cultivation and production will create employment for 2,700 people,
of which about 60% is direct and the rest is indirect employment.

He continued:
Unfortunately, one of the problems in the production of this product is the lack or lack of mechanization

Izadi stated:
Despite the efforts that have been made in this field and several devices have been made,
none of them has been able to meet the expectations and has not reached mass production.

The head of the Zaveh Agricultural Jihad Office stated:
There is a fully automatic device for planting saffron in city .

He added:
Almost 90% of the farmers in this city are mainly saffron growers.

Izadi emphasized:
the presence of saffron product has not caused the closure of production workshops in city ,
but due to lack of workers during the harvest and cleaning of saffron.

The head of Zaveh Agricultural Jihad Office stated:
Due to the need of water for saffron, pressurized irrigation methods increase efficiency and productivity.
