46 hectares of saffron cultivation area in Zanjan province

Behnam Ojaqloo said:
Expanding the level of saffron planting is one of the important issues on the agenda.
Currently, the area under saffron cultivation in the province has exceeded 46 hectares,
of which more than 23 hectares are in the fruiting period.

He announced the current amount of saffron production in Zanjan province as 50 kg and noted:
the province planted 23 hectares of saffron farms last year and has not yet entered the production stage.

Ojaqloo said:
the green farm in Zanjan province, as a support for saffron from 0 to 100,
follows the process of saffron production in the province and is responsible for supplying the required onions for the product.

He said that the saffron onion needed in Zanjan province is supplied from the northern provinces of South Khorasan and Razavi, adding:
Supplying saffron onion is difficult and sensitive because in this regard we must look for free fields.
Pest and support companies are looking for healthy farms in the province and distribute the required onions in the province by buying them.

The head of horticulture affairs of Zanjan Jihad Agricultural Organization stated that the number of onions required for saffron cultivation per hectare is 4 to 5 and added:
the cost of preparing saffron onions per hectare,
including other costs, is estimated at 25 million Tomans.
Increased to 30 million tomans.

The director of the horticulture department of Zanjan Jihad Agricultural Organization,
referring to the high level of saffron planting enthusiasts in Zanjan province, said:
Currently, the average output of saffron farms in the province is 2 kg and 100 g,
because they are located in the province. Early years of production, but will increase by 3 kg in the next few years.
Harvesting per hectare will be easy.
