30 hectares of saffron are cultivated in Sirjan city

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Sirjan city said:
with the planting of another 5 hectares of saffron in Sirjan,
the planting level of this crop in the city reached 30 hectares.

Ahmad Masoudi stated:
with the planting of another 5 hectares of saffron in Sirjan,
the level of saffron planting in this city reached 30 hectares.

He said:
Due to the good yield and fruit of saffron in the northern villages and rural areas of Paris Sirjan,
this year another 5 hectares were planted with saffron by farmers in the region,
which has increased by 20% compared to last year.

Masoudi added:
Considering the suitable climatic conditions for the growth of saffron and the cultivation of this crop in low water,
farmers have welcomed the planting of this crop, and economic benefits have encouraged them to plant saffron.

He said:
during the past month,
200 people were employed in saffron cultivation daily and the harvest will start on November 6 of this year at the level of 25 hectares.

Masoudi stated:
The harvest forecast for this product this year is 90 kg, which was 60 kg last year.

Saffron is cultivated as onions and the lack of processing and packaging machines
is one of the problems of saffron growers.
