$ 200 increase in the price of Iranian saffron for export
Export statistics show that Iran, as the largest producer of saffron in the world,
exported a total of more than $ 60 million worth of saffron in the first five months of this year,
and the price of each kilogram of saffron has increased by less than $ 200 in bulk.
According to customs statistics, during the first five months of this year,
Iran exported more than $ 27.5 million of saffron in small packages, ie 10 to 30 grams,
and more than $ 33 million of this product in packages of more than 30 grams.
Although the export of saffron in micro packaging has decreased by more than 28% compared to the same period last year,
but these statistics show that the sale of saffron in bulk packaging in terms of weight almost
doubled and in terms of value more than double the price increase.
Non-oil exports in the first five months of this year also showed that the price of saffron for retail increased
to $ 1,480 per kilogram and in bulk to $ 1,431.
Accordingly, the price of saffron in wholesale has increased less than $ 200 compared to the same period
last year and about 3,870,000 Tomans per kilogram has been exported, which is more than 400,000 Tomans more than the previous year.
