20 hectares of agricultural lands in Qazvin are ready for saffron cultivation

The director general of the Qazvin Governor’s Office for Attracting and Supporting Investment said:
According to the research, 20 hectares of agricultural lands in Qazvin are ready for saffron cultivation.

The meeting of the saffron planting headquarters was chaired by Morteza Alikhani,
Director General of the Office of Investment Attraction and Support.

Alikhani stated that according to several years of research by researchers,
especially raw scientific research by Dr. Damavandi, 20 hectares of agricultural land is ready for saffron cultivation.

He further stated:
Due to the environmental conditions, the type of climate in Qazvin is suitable for planting saffron.

Alikhani said:
Due to the decrease in groundwater in the province, we should look at improving the type of cultivation, the export view, instead of planting high-consumption crops in water, to cultivate crops.

The director general of Qazvin Governor’s Office for Attracting and Supporting Investment added:
Climatic conditions, less frost pests and cost-effectiveness and export view of saffron planting in the province should be considered.

Qazvin province is one of the 31 provinces of Iran and is located in the northwestern part of the country.
so that 11% of the registered national historical monuments are located in Qazvin province and in this regard is ranked first in Iran.
Tarom Sofla tourist and historical region in the northwest of the province is one of the attractions of this province, and Samiran Castle is also located in this region as the oldest historical monument of the province.
