He added: Due to the water crisis in the country, saffron production has been considered due to low water needs.

Almasi added: Medicinal properties, storage properties and high prices are among the characteristics that have increased the acceptance of farmers in the region to cultivate this plant.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Nazarabad city stated: The aroma of Nazarabad saffron is one of the special features of this region and the tests performed by the standard organization show the high quality of saffron produced in the city.
He pointed out: In 1397, the management of Jihad Keshavarzi of Nazarabad city has paid more than 300 million Tomans to the applicants from the rural development credits (Kara Fund) to increase the area under saffron cultivation.
