Production of 50 kg of saffron in Lorestan province

The head of the Lorestan Agricultural Jihad Organization announced the production of 50 kilograms of saffron in the province.

Ishaq Taheri Moghaddam stated:
Lorestan is the origin of saffron and there are documents proving this.

He said that the cultivation of saffron has started in Lorestan during the past few years and informed about the plans
of this organization in the province to increase it and added:
saffron cultivation has low expectations compared to water and can easily reach a very high level.
He allocated a large part of the province’s agricultural lands to it.

Taheri Moghaddam continued:
Saffron cultivation as a profitable and economic product in the province has been done with the cooperation of the Research
Center and the Deputy of Plant Production of this organization.

The head of the Lorestan Agricultural Jihad Organization estimated the area under saffron cultivation in the province at 100 hectares and said:
This amount has been done sporadically and it is not possible to announce exactly a common point for saffron cultivation in the province.

He estimated the amount of saffron production in the province at 50 kg and specified:
Currently, we have reached the border of self-sufficiency in the production of saffron onions, which is a positive point in Lorestan agriculture.

Taheri Moghaddam, referring to some characteristics of saffron in the province,
which has made it superior to the production of this product in other provinces, added:
The color of saffron in the province was 277 units, which is 220 units in the country,
as well Its aroma is 33 units in the province and 22 units in the country, and its taste is 100 units in the province and 85 units in the country,
