Increasing the level of saffron cultivation in Iran in Rafsanjan

Hossein Rezaee, Director of Agricultural Jihad in Iran of Rafsanjan, said: “In order to increase the cultivation of alternative crops and saffron cultivation in Iran, Rafsanjan has developed well.
He added: “In the past two years, the cultivation area of saffron in Iran in Rafsanjan has risen from 10 hectares to 35 hectares and nearly 20 percent of the area has been increasing since last year.”
Director of Agricultural Jihad in Iran, Rafsanjan, said: Saffron needs 2,500 cubic meters per hectare per year and will cost three dollars per cubic meter.
Rezaei pointed out: Saffron cultivation also has a good job, so that for each hectare, 180 to 200 workers are used to harvest flowers.
He emphasized: There is a capacity to expand the cultivated area of saffron at least 10 times in the city.
