Harvesting more than 13 tons of saffron in South Khorasan

Ghaen city in South Khorasan is the first in terms of quality of saffron production in the country and the second in terms of quantity after Torbat Heydariyeh city.
The director of Ghaen in South Khorasan Agricultural Jihad announced the area under saffron cultivation in this city as 4,287 hectares and said:
this amount has increased by 23% compared to last year.
three kilograms and 150 grams of dry saffron are harvested from each hectare.
Raufifard added:
41 million Rials per kilogram of saffron and 34 million Rials per kilogram of saffron are sold.
12 thousand 850 people in Ghaen city in South Khorasan are exploiting saffron products.
