Export of saffron to China is not prohibited

He said China’s decision to import crops from Iran and raise tariffs has caused some profitable persons to smuggle saffron into intermediary countries, saying the import tariff for agricultural products to China is close to zero for some countries. Then export this product to China with tariffs of close to zero.
Naibi emphasized: One of the solutions to ease the export of saffron to these countries is the use of preferential tariffs, which will require the necessary consultations at the level of the ministry, which hopes to be effective in the export process.
He stated that about 95 percent of the world’s saffron is produced in Iran, he said: “Following is necessary to prevent the smuggling of saffron and saffron onions as well.
75 thousand hectares of Razavi Khorasan farms are under cultivation of saffron, and the current average harvest of this product per hectare is four kilograms, which is the last year recorded 280 thousand tons of product production.
