Cultivation of saffron in 10 hectares of lands in Malayer city
The head of the construction mobilization of Malayer city stated:
for the first time, about 10 hectares of agricultural lands of this city were cultivated with saffron.
In this regard, Col. Hatam Zandi added:
in order to implement the Resistance Economy programs and fulfill the emphases and menus of the Supreme Leader,
for the first time, about 10 hectares of lands in the central parts, Saman and Jokar were planted with saffron.
He continued:
This production plan was proposed in the Basij-e-Sazandegi economic working group and was evaluated by economic elites
and agricultural experts.
Due to the water shortage crisis in the city and the fact that the saffron plant needed little water to grow,
the plan was approved and implemented. .
Zandi stated that the total need for saffron during watering is two times of watering and said:
it takes three months from cultivation to yield and harvest of saffron and usually this plant is planted in late September
and harvested at the end of December.
The head of the Malayer Construction Basij, stating that saffron onions are prepared for cultivation from Mashhad, predicted:
about 15 kilograms of saffron will be harvested in Malayer this year.
He pointed out:
in order to boost the economy and help farmers in production, mobilize the construction of training,
guidance and consulting at the beginning and during the period using experienced experts and pay facilities to farmers.
Zandi stated that so far 12 farmers have been introduced to Mehr Eghtesad Bank to receive a loan for saffron cultivation,
and stated that the amount of payment facilities is between 15 and 30 million Tomans.
The head of Basij-e-Sazandegi in Malayer reminded: the amount of harvest from saffron onion increases significantly from the second year onwards and can bring good income.
