Cultivation of 70% of saffron in Alborz province in Nazarabad city
Regarding saffron cultivation in this city, Iraj Almasi stated:
During this year, 42 hectares of lands in Alborz province were allocated to saffron cultivation,
of which more than 30 hectares are allocated to Nazarabad city.
He expressed hope that next year the area under saffron cultivation in this city will increase to twice this year’s production, he said:

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Nazarabad city, pointing out that saffron can be harvested once for up to seven years, said:

Almasi added:
Medicinal properties, storage properties and high prices are among the characteristics that have increased the welcome of local farmers
to cultivate this plant.
