$ 7.75 million worth of saffron was exported last year
Last year, 109 million and 42 thousand dollars of various industrial and medicinal plants were exported abroad,
which decreased by 7.12 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Public Relations of Iran’s Customs announced:
The highest amount of exports in the subgroup of industrial and medicinal plants was allocated to saffron,
so that during this period 75 million and 744 thousand dollars of saffron was allocated abroad,
which compared to the same period last year 21 / Shows a decrease of 7%.
After cumin saffron and its types, other medicinal and industrial plants, tobacco, tragacanth and its types accounted for the largest amount of exports in this sector.
12 million and 441 thousand dollars of cumin and its types, 5 million and 584 thousand dollars of other medicinal and industrial plants, 4 million and 326 thousand dollars of tobacco and 3 million and 343 thousand dollars of tragacanth and its types were exported abroad. In the meantime, tragacanth and its varieties increased and tobacco decreased.
During this period, $ 486,000 of medicinal plants were exported to the United Arab Emirates,
$ 468,000 to Germany, $ 418,000 to Pakistan, $ 379,000 to Italy and $ 336,000 to France.
The export weight of industrial and medicinal plants was 21,919 tons, which decreased by 7.21 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
