Harvest 10 kg of red gold (saffron) in Galugah city
The director of Galugah Agricultural Jihad said: it is predicted that 10 kg of saffron will be harvested from 3 hectares of saffron farms in this city.
Gholamreza Ghanbari announced the increase of the desire of the farmers of the mountainous areas of Galugah city for saffron cultivation and said: this year, 3 hectares of agricultural lands in the upstream areas of this city were allocated for saffron cultivation.
He pointed out that the average yield of saffron in this city is three to four kilograms per hectare, adding: it is expected that 10 kilograms of saffron will be harvested from these lands and sent to the market for consumption.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Galugah city stated: Last year, 2.5 hectares of lands in this city were allocated for saffron cultivation and 8 kg of saffron was harvested from these lands.
He specified: a saffron production unit in a greenhouse with an area of ??300 square meters with a production capacity of 5 kg is operating in this city.
The official continued: Avard, Vozvar, Niala and Aghordreh villages of this city are prone to saffron cultivation and its level is expanding every year due to economic efficiency.
