The area under saffron cultivation is increasing in Markazi province
Horticulture director of Jihad Agricultural Organization of Markazi province said:
it is predicted that the area under saffron cultivation in the province will increase to 120 hectares.
Ali Asghar Zarei stated: The area under saffron cultivation in this province is currently 113 hectares.
He said:
out of a total of 113 hectares of saffron cultivation, 93 hectares are fertile and the rest are infertile.
Horticulture director of Jihad Agricultural Organization of Markazi province, referring to saffron cultivation in all cities of the province, said:
The highest level of saffron cultivation is in Khomein cities with 24 hectares, Delijan with 13 hectares and Mahallat with 13 hectares.
He described the development and promotion of the cultivation of this crop as water-less cultivation
as one of the policies of the Ministry of Horticulture.
Zarei, noting that the cultivation of saffron lasts from the first to the 25th of September, said.
