The head of Kermanshah Agricultural Jihad Organization, referring to the potential of this province, said: Unfortunately, Kermanshah is not in the position and status it should be in the agricultural sector. The province has an area of 2.5 million hectares, of which more than 1.5 million hectares are forests. And it is pastures; It has about 950,000 hectares of garden and rainfed land, but we are far from what we should be. Kermanshah province does not deserve this unemployment and economic situation. Considering the province’s potential, the situation should be better.

Hatami emphasized: we did not know the agricultural sector of the province well and we did not introduce it well, if we only revive the province’s chickpeas and saffron, Kermanshah will change, but we have nothing to say about chickpeas, we must support chickpeas and its added value.

He introduced Kermanshah province as the best place for saffron cultivation and added: Last year, the province’s saffron was sold at a price of 14 to 15 million tomans per kilogram, which is 50% higher than the national price, and employment of 250 to 300 people a year with good income. And it leads to low water consumption.
