Prediction of harvesting 36 kg of saffron from Khuzestan farms

The Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Khuzestan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: We predict that 36 kg of saffron will be harvested from the farms of the province this year.

Mohammad Ghasemi Nejad, referring to the beginning of saffron harvest from the farms of the province, said: The harvest of saffron has started in the province for the past few days and the harvest of this product is being done by farmers.

He added: According to the supportive policies of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of the province in the field of development of medicinal plants, saffron cultivation has reached 35 hectares this year and therefore we expect to see more appropriate performance in this field.

Khuzestan Jihad Agricultural Organization Deputy for Plant Production Improvement, stating that the area under cultivation has increased by 4% this year compared to last year, clarified: We anticipate that 36 kg of saffron will be harvested from the province’s farms this year.

Ghasemi Nejad pointed out: Saffron cultivation has been done in Izeh, Baghmalek, Behbahan and Shushtar counties and farmers in these counties are harvesting this crop.
