Production of 3 and 7 tenths of saffron in Fars province

It is predicted that more than 3 and 7 tenths of a ton of saffron will be produced in Fars this year.

Estahban is the center of saffron production in Fars province,
which produces more than 90% of the province’s saffron due to its suitable climate.

Fars province ranks fifth in the country in saffron production and with the implementation of this plan in 1392,
it will gain the third rank in the country.

Kherad, the head of the Fars Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization, said:
Mechanized cultivation, access to new markets,
creating a balance in domestic and foreign prices,
and the entry of people into the project are among the measures implemented in this project.

This year, 60 hectares of agricultural lands in the province
have been allocated for the development of saffron cultivation,
which has increased by about 15% compared to last year.
