First planting saffron in Bamyan
According to a young journalist, Mohammad Ayub Ahmadi, director of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock Development in Bamyan province, Mohammad Ayoub Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News that in the first year, nine land plots and in the second year, five land plots, in collaboration with farmers Saffron was cultivated in the center of Bamyan, Kahmard and Yaawlang districts.
He said cultivation of saffron in tropical regions yields good yields, adding that the experiment found that cultivation of saffron yielded a favorable result in Kahmard district and Bamyan province center.
According to him, in the most elemental parts of the saffron, 80 grams of saffron are obtained from every jerib, which is less than that of the potato; however, with propagation of saffron bulbs, its revenues are higher than potatoes.
Based on the statements of Abdul Wahhab Mohammadi, the head of agriculture in Bamiyan province, saffron bulbs are from Herat and they are trying to increase in this and in the high.

Mohammad Nasim, who has planted two hectares of saffron in the center of Bamiyan, told Pajhwok Afghan News that cultivating saffron in areas of favorable crop yields of warm air.
He said that cultivation of saffron has recently become widespread in the province, saying that the Bamiyan center has a lot of water and potato yields more than saffron, but if the bulbs of saffron are sold, it may be more than potatoes.
He noted that the absence of saffron bulbs in the country and its transfer from the provinces of Herat to the province from other problems of Bamiyan farmers said: “It is not possible to bring the onion from Herat to any peasant.”
It is worth noting that saffron was planted for the first time in Herat and had a good result and is now cultivated in a number of other provinces.
